Description

The Express is looking for a Reporter to join the team behind one of the country’s biggest websites and one of its most iconic newspapers.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record at delivering brilliant exclusives and fantastic page views in equal measure with experience writing for a national website or paper, agency or a busy regional title.

We are looking for a strong writer who feels confident interviewing anyone and has a natural news sense for what is and isn’t a story that will inform or entertain our readers.

We want to find someone who is full of ideas for agenda-setting stories and gripping features, who instinctively knows how to get the maximum possible audience out of everything they write.

We want someone ambitious and motivated, with a strong work ethic. This isn’t your typical 9 to 5 job but it can be hugely rewarding.

You will need to be equally adept at covering everything from the war in Ukraine to over-tourism in Cornwall - and often in a way that differentiates us from our rivals.

You will be joining a newsroom where we expect everyone to work hard but want everyone to love coming to work. It’s a friendly team full of talented reporters and editors with lots of expertise to share.

We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

Due to the nature of the role we are open to both trainee candidates with their preliminaries and senior candidates.

This role is home-and-hub based linked to our London Canary Wharf office. We are therefore open to candidates willing to be based in and around London.
