The Opportunity

To support delivery on circular economy projects and Stopford technologies (see our website), we are looking for an experienced Research Consultant to join our Technology and Innovation team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The appointee will lead, develop and deliver research and consultancy services across the low-carbon energy and circular economy sectors in line with the service group strategy.

Skills and Experience we are looking for in our Research Consultant:

• Degree in a relevant subject area (e.g. Sciences, Environmental Technology, Environment & Business, Sustainability, Enterprise & Environment)
• Experience working in a similar role
• Eligible to live and work in the UK
• Full UK/EEC driving licence
• Working knowledge of Office 365 including One Drive and Sharepoint with proficient use of Word and Excel

Key Responsibilities of the Research Consultant will include:

• Deliver research, innovation and consulting projects across the low-carbon energy and circular economy sectors, through laboratory-based experimentation, chemicals analysis, data mining, data interpretation and reporting.
• Support the technical and commercial development of Stopford’s IP portfolio, through data acquisition and interpretation, technology benchmarking and research into relevant policy/regulation in UK and overseas markets.
• Support preparation of proposals for both grant funded and commercial projects.
• Assist in the development of strategic relationships with partners, including academic institutions and public and private sector organisations, with a focus on low carbon energy and the circular economy.
• Project management of research, innovation and consulting projects.
• Line management of junior members for the Technology & Innovation team focusing on both their short-term development goals (essential knowledge and skills) and their longer-term future career development.
• Assist other Stopford activities as appropriate and consistent with skills and experience.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain security clearance of at least Security Check level (SC clearance) for this role.
