Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy and Planning
Forecasting and Planning: Collaborate with sales leaders to develop sales forecasts, quotas, and targets. This includes analysing market trends, historical performance, and pipeline data.
Territory Management: Work with sales leaders to define sales territories and ensure the equitable distribution of opportunities among sales reps.
Goal Setting: Help set individual and team sales goals that are aligned with the overall business objectives.
2. Process Optimization
Sales Process Development: Define and document the sales process to ensure consistency and efficiency. This could involve everything from lead management to the sales funnel.
Workflow Automation: Implement and optimize sales tools and technologies (like CRM systems) to automate workflows, reducing manual tasks for sales reps.
Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and cleanliness of sales data within the CRM and other sales-related platforms.
3. Performance Analysis and Reporting
Sales Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on individual, team, and organizational sales performance against set metrics and targets.
KPI Analysis: Regularly assess key performance indicators (KPIs) like conversion rates, deal velocity, pipeline health, and win/loss ratios to identify areas for improvement.
Dashboards and Reports: Create and maintain sales dashboards to provide leadership and sales teams with actionable insights.
4. Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaboration with Marketing: Work closely with marketing teams to align lead generation efforts and feedback on campaign effectiveness.
Collaboration with Finance: Coordinate with finance teams to ensure accurate sales forecasting, revenue reporting, and quota alignment.
Collaboration with Product Teams: Provide feedback on product issues from the field and coordinate product training for the sales team.
5. Sales Compensation Management
Quota Setting and Compensation Plans: Assist in the design and implementation of sales compensation plans that motivate sales performance while aligning with business goals.
Commission Tracking: Ensure the accurate calculation of commissions and incentives for the sales team.
6. Risk Management
Deal Review: Participate in reviewing and approving deals, ensuring that pricing, discounts, and contract terms are aligned with company policies.
Pipeline Health: Continuously monitor the sales pipeline to identify bottlenecks, gaps, or risks that could impact revenue.
Compliance: Ensure that all sales operations comply with company policy and regulations.
