Job Description
Wood is recruiting for a Executive Compensation Manager to work as a key member of the global reward and mobility team, the Executive Compensation Manager will oversee the delivery of executive compensation programmes and projects on a global basis. The position plays a crucial role in shaping strategy, designing policies, and developing frameworks that align with the business strategy. The focus will be on implementing progressive reward practices, driving greater transparency, and improving the overall reward culture.
This role will typically concentrate on a specialist area or subset of executive compensation across multiple jurisdictions.
You will be required to influence decision making by providing guidance and recommendations to senior leadership, leading and developing others within their area of expertise and support organisational strategic goals and objectives. There will be a requirement to understand and influence how company policy and procedure can be applied globally and locally. The role will be limited by Company and functional strategy and objectives, broad practices and regulatory frameworks across multiple geographies with a significant degree of complexity.
Responsibilities
Compensation strategy and support:
- Develop and implement executive compensation strategies, including base salary, short and long-term incentives and equity compensation plans
- Conduct regular market analysis to ensure competitive positioning of executive compensation
- Data analysis to identify trends and provide rationale for compensation strategies using market sources
- Provide HR business partners support in all areas of executive compensation including but not limited to recruitment and retention programmes
Corporate Governance
- Ensure all executive compensation and benefits programmes comply with relevant laws and regulations
- Develop, alongside the VP Reward, the Directors’ Remuneration Report ensuring it is compliant with the corporate governance code and in line with market practice, whilst balancing the views of the wider stakeholders
- Prepare responses to proxy agency reports in preparation for the company’s annual general meeting
Remuneration Committee Support
- Manage Committee timelines and actions
- Prepare Committee papers working with relevant stakeholders
- Support board engagement activities with wider stakeholder groups including investors and the wider workforce
Share Plans Management
- Manage all share plan operations across the life cycle executive and all employee share plans, which includes performance and restricted share plans as well as share purchase plans operating across multiple geographies
- Manage all enrolment activities including share grants for executive plans and enrolment activity in the all employee purchase plans
- Manage all reporting requirements including payroll, tax and financial reporting
- Maintain all plan documentation ensuring it remains current with changes in legislation
Project Support
- Support the wider Group reward team with ad-hoc project work as required

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree level qualified and a specific reward qualification supported with significant relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- Experience of broad reward practices, total reward and ability to interpret and align strategy in a PLC environment
- Experience of share plans management and operations
- Company performance and how it can deliver and add value to its customers
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communicator with excellent report writing skills, ability to communicate complex principles effectively at all levels within the organisation
- Experience of working within complex commercial and business models
- Awareness of external factors, competitors and their impact on the Reward strategy
- Ability to plan and manage work of others to deliver objectives using existing internal resources
- External benchmarking experience and the ability to develop best fit solutions based on findings from market data
- Able to build, motivate, develop and manage an effective team (direct or indirectly)
- Experience in negotiating with external providers to achieve cost efficiencies
- Exposure to an international work environment
- Possess the ability to communicate complex principles effectively at all levels within the organization
