SCADA Engineer

We are seeking an experienced SCADA/PLC Automation Engineer to join our Energy Management team.
The main role will be to participate in global projects and to develop and commission SCADA & PLC solutions for electrical distribution control & monitoring and power/energy monitoring applications.
Reporting to a dept. project manager, this position provides an excellent opportunity to enhance professional growth and development.

What you will be doing on a day to day basis:
* Preparation of PLC control sequence flow charts against Description of Operation documentation
* Preparation of IO tag and network device databases
* Development of detailed software code (ladder logic, structured text etc) for automation, control, and data acquisition applications
* Development of HMI/GUI User Interfaces by creating new or updating existing software graphics, diagrams, configurations, and databases
* Hardware configuration, communication setup and "in-house" testing of developed solutions
* Ability to solve problems logically and troubleshoot system faults
* Follow department procedures and participate in the development of new and existing best practices, procedures and template documentation
* Be able to collaborate with team members as well as work alone
* Help manage/mentor junior members of the engineering team
* Participation in projects from inception to on-site commissioning and client hand over
* Reporting regularly on progress to senior management
* Adaptable to meet project demands and deadlines
* Be flexible to travel to site and support project commissioning activities for developed solutions
Qualifications & Essentials
* A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a similar role
* 3rd Level qualification in an Automation / Electrical Engineering related discipline*
* Relevant experience in an Engineering / Process / Manufacturing / Industrial environment
* Strong knowledge across a range of hardware & software SCADA / PLC / Automation systems
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
