WSP is a one of the world’s leading engineering consulting firms, we are part of the UK Security Risk and Resilience team and, currently have a number of opportunities for designers and consultants of all levels to join our busy security consulting team. Specialists in either threat and strategy or those with a strong understanding of physical and electronic security technologies are welcome to apply.

As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and prestigious projects in the world, shaping the environment that we live in and ensuring security is designed in to ensure the security and safety of those who interact at these locations. With opportunities for international travel and working on a huge variety of projects and sectors this role is interesting, challenging and diverse. Although part of a large, multi-disciplinary consultancy, the WSP security team are a tight-knit group, working closely to deliver some of the largest and most complex projects in the world.

YOUR NEW ROLE, WHAT’S INVOLVED?

• Produce high quality, technology driven designs on some of the most exciting projects in the UK and worldwide.
• Produce strategy documentation that serve to protect buildings and occupants within the built environment globally.
• Become part of the wider WSP business by sharing knowledge and technical skills with colleagues from around the globe.
• Work with clients, developers, contractors and architects to build relationships and work towards being the security consultancy of choice in the industry.
• Work in an environment that allows you to use your own initiative with support from specific specialist experience to deliver high quality strategic and engineering solutions.
• Supervise the completion of detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function, whilst maximising joint learning opportunities for the wider business.
• Assist with developing the client relationship to promote new commissions.

WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE

• A can-do attitude, the desire to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
• Experience in security consulting or electronic security design, from concept to technical design stages.
• Good attention to detail and show pride in the work produced.
• An understanding of the RIBA Security overlay and the general RIBA Plan of Works would be preferable.
• A working understanding of SBD/CPTED.
• An understanding of working with Revit or other 3D design software will be required for technical roles.
• Relevant qualifications or experience relevant to the field of security consulting and electronic security system design, other qualifications i.e. electrical engineering would be considered.
