Howden is looking for a Senior Associate to join our growing Climate, Risk, and Resilience (CRR) team. Sitting within Client Solutions, the Senior Associate will be a critical link between our lead generators, clients, and internal stakeholders, ensuring the delivery of tailored solutions and maintenance of strong client relationships.
Your role will involve overseeing the lifecycle of client engagements, from opportunity identification and proposal development to post-sales management and strategic oversight. Please note this is a full-time, permanent role based in our Central London office. Following a hybrid work pattern, you are expected to be onsite 3 days per week on average.
Responsibilities:
Client Engagement:
Support lead generators in engaging with high-potential clients ("hot leads").
Manage client relationships throughout the opportunity lifecycle and post-sales phases.
Oversee governance processes related to client engagement, including go/no-go decisions and client triage criteria.
Solutions Development:
Collaborate with analytics and pillar teams to craft tailored client solutions.
Drive the development and delivery of proposals, pitches, and responses to RFPs.
Serve as a hub for sector-specific proposition collateral, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Pipeline Oversight:
Support with the centralisation and governing of the opportunity pipeline, providing regular feedback to lead generators and SMEs.
Supporting with the analysis of the pipeline to identify trends, opportunities, and gaps in offerings or strategies.
Strategy and Innovation:
Work with lead generators and SMEs to refine commercial strategies for target sectors.
Partner with analytics and pillar teams to enhance or create new offerings/products that align with market demands.
Broker Relationships:
Manage and support engagement with brokers across Howden to strengthen partnerships and foster collaboration.
Supporting on and delivery of training to internal teams across Howden.
Requirements
Previous experience in a client engagement, business development, solutions development, or similar role, either in consulting or industry. Ideally, you have contributed to projects focused on climate, ESG, sustainability, or related areas.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with expertise in proposal and pitch development preferred.
Strong relationship management skills with a high emotional intelligence (EQ), and a demonstrated ability to build and sustain client and partner relationships.
Must be able to adapt and flex in a fast-paced environment, be comfortable working on multiple tasks simultaneously whilst effectively prioritizing and self-managing workload to meet deadlines.
Strategic thinker with a knack for identifying trends and translating them into actionable strategies.
Fluency in additional languages would be a plus.
