ABOUT YOU


As Senior Business Developer, you will be somebody who is driven and passionate about sales. You will have a hunter mentality and will be excited at the prospect of growing the businesses client base, while delivering a quality service to existing customers. You will be forward-thinking, strategic and someone who would like to develop a great career within the Sales team at Intertek Hardlines and Softlines.


Required skills and experience:


  • Good commercial acumen
  • Good IT literacy skills
  • Specific knowledge of the TIC, PPE or Hardlines and Softlines industry would be advantageous
  • Proven work experience and results as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Executive or an equivalent role
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce or HubSpot) and MS Office (particularly MS Excel)
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs.


ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY


Within this opportunity, you will have experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs. You will strive to meet sales KPIs as set out by the business and have a passion for achieving and exceeding targets.


Key activities:

  • Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas
  • Demonstrate Intertek’s Total Quality Assurance value proposition at all times to current and prospective clients
  • Be a strong negotiator and understand the business pricing parameters for growth of sales and profitability.
  • Promote internal sales & operational synergies and alignment to improve the customer experience
  • Forecast and track customer metrics to predict trends in different sectors
  • Understand the needs and future requirements of customers through proactive key account management
  • Provide daily, weekly, monthly sales reports
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
  • Ensure a consistently excellent customer experience.
  • A key part of this role will be identifying and achieving new and profitable revenue streams in line with the business line’s sales strategy
  • Support BDD with monitoring and evaluating team performance, including knowledge of the annual sales plan
  • Involvement in weekly forecasting delivery
  • Plan work to ensure that priorities and deadlines are achieved ensuring prompt responses to incoming communications (telephone, email etc)
