We’re seeking a commercial Senior Finance Business Partner to sit on the leadership team for Severn Trent Services (STS) and partner the Managing Director, supporting the STS Executive Team and to oversee STS finance function.

About Sts

Severn Trent Services (STS) is commercial business that’s part of the Severn Trent PLC group. The business offers a variety of water & wastewater services to organisations across the UK through different business units.

Services include;

  • The design, build, operation & maintenance of private water and waste water treatment facilities for a variety of industrial / municipal clients.
  • Water hygiene and legionella services for buildings across a number of contracts
  • Maintenance or upgrading of existing reed beds, used in the water treatment process

The business has combined annual revenues of c£104million and delivers c£23million profit before interest and tax (PBIT) and employees c350 employees in multiple locations across the UK

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As part of the STS leadership team you will lead, develop & drive the financial performance & profit and loss for each business unit, and the portfolio as a whole, to shape and lead the business strategy, focus on priorities to achieve stretching financial targets.

You’ll partner the Managing Director and support the wider Executive Team in providing insightful financial information to drive an outperformance culture through robust challenge of each department budgets. Working closely with operations and commercial teams, you’ll provide them with clear, well thought through insight into their cost base, helping to shape the broader financial, operational and commercial strategy

You will also lead the STS finance function, managing and motivating a team of c10 Finance professionals responsible for accounts receivable/payable, financial accounting & control, commercial accounting, analysis & insight. Ensuring they have the skills, experience and drive to support the operational teams, to enable critical, value-based decision-making, identify and implement efficiencies at pace and improve financial controls.

Finally, this role requires strong commercial drive and acumen, and the ability to support critical business decision making with brilliant multi-dimensional insight.

About You

You’ll be a fully qualified finance professional with experience working at a senior finance level in a fast-paced, highly commercial and competitive environment, ideally with an operational/engineering focus managing multiple portfolios or business units across a large region.

You’ll have excellent communication and influencing skills with strong experience of partnering senior business stakeholders with competing deliverables to hold them to account for delivery of financial and operations targets.
