The Senior Commercial Manager will oversee the commercial aspects of capital works and lifecycle projects over 5 Healthcare PFI contracts, ensuring successful management and delivery. This role demands extensive experience in quantity surveying and commercial management within the construction industry and the ability to travel various sites on a regular basis across the Midlands and the London area.
- Reporting to the FM Commercial Leader and Operations Director, the Senior Commercial Manager will lead and develop a team to deliver commercial activity of change, lifecycle replacement & capital works across the portfolio.
- The role will proactively seek process improvements to meet contract obligations (including the PFI original construction requirements and handback) via deployment of digital tools.
- The role will oversee compliance to company process (such as feasibility studies, submission, design control, and handover) to protect entitlements and risk exposure.
- The Senior Commercial Manager will line manage and oversee the project QS team who will have the responsibility of commercially managing all aspects of variable work through each stage of a project from estimate, tendering, delivery, change control, risk, governance, billing and closeout.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field; RICS or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial management within the construction industry focusing on lifecycle and capital works projects.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects with complex commercial requirements.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts
- Excellent negotiation skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
