Want to kick off an exciting career with a fast-growing cloud technology business in a complicated, exciting and high-growth area of regulatory compliance? We are looking for a Senior Customer Account Manager to join our Enterprise Customer Account Management Team to make an outstanding contribution to the growth of our regional sales capability.

 

You will operate as part of a passionate and successful team, our Customer Account Managers sell Avalara's complete range of Tax Technology solutions and services to our customers in the EMEA region, and working with our Customer Success Team to gain intimate knowledge or our customers business and deliver an excellent experience.

 

You will work on a hybrid basis from our Brighton office and report into the team manager.

  • You will establish and grow professional working relationships and network with daily users up to the executive level.
  • You will execute campaigns and use networking opportunities and technologies to drive lead generation with existing ecommerce, retail, software projects requiring tax or cross-border compliance solutions
  • You will manage a pipeline of cross-on and up sell opportunities within a set of existing accounts and deliver results against a quota
  • You will provide forecasts and risk analysis to direct manager as well as track customer and partner interaction, using Salesforce
  • Consistently achieve and exceed monthly booking goals through self-motivation, goal setting and solution driven approaches to problem solving
  • Use Experience digging into prospects' pain points and validating the issues they're facing for sales calls, product presentations, webinars and face-to-face meetings as well as hosting demonstrations and partner webinars
  • Create a win-win environment for the client and Avalara by negotiating issues related to contracts, pricing and service fees.
  • Work in a team environment with a Customer Success Manager to promote client retention and satisfaction
  • Mentors/coach Customer Account Managers

 

  • Proven experience in an existing business, quota-carrying sales role
  • 5 years' experience minimum in B2B selling of managed services, SaaS software or VAT related services, preferably to tax, finance, IT or business owners at a senior level
  • Knowldge of indirect tax or VAT compliance
  • Experience developing Enterprise/Strategic accounts
  • Experience being held to and motivated by metrics
  • Experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects both internally and externally
  • Experience balancing multiple sales opportunities
  • Strategic account planning discipline
  • Specialised knowledge of the retail, software, logistics, finance, accounting or tax industry, would be a distinct advantage

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one second European language (Dutch, German, French, Scandinavian or Italian), spoken and written at business level is a distinct benefit
  • Solid knowledge of desktop productivity tools and experience using CRM systems (e.g. salesforce.com).
