Description
NHS England is looking for an editor to join a very busy content team. The successful candidate will work alongside our head of editorial and 2 editorial content managers to make publications clear, readable and informative for NHS staff.

The role sits in the Content team in NHS England’s Public Accountability, Communications and Engagement sub-directorate.

We are looking for a team player who shares our passion for making high-profile and often complex content clear, succinct and accessible.

  • You will be focused on giving readers the information they need in formats that work for them – while ensuring the publications you edit are accurate and meet NHS England's objectives.
  • This will require well developed editing skills. You'll often need to restructure, rewrite and cut content, while ensuring the publications you are working on stay absolutely faithful to the purposes of the authors.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher.
