Lewisham EP Team has a strong history of being a learning organisation, and this is true of supporting EPs to develop their leadership and management skills. We are looking for a Senior EP, or an EP seeking a promoted post, to join us in our work to bring high quality EP services to the children and families of Lewisham>
Actively Anti-Racist Practice
Our team, from TEPs to PEP, are committed to delivering active anti-racist practice in all our interactions. Becoming Actively Anti-Racist EPs was given priority CPD and Service Development time in academic year 2023-24. Going into 2024-25 this area of practice is a focal point to our service development plan. Examples of our priorities for this year are:
- All EPs can describe how being actively anti-racist is demonstrated through the five functions of the EP (consultation, assessment, intervention, training, and research).
- EPs can demonstrate racial fluency and use a shared vocabulary across our five functions.
- EPs can write provision which explicitly addresses the needs of Black children, e.g., racial identity development and belonging.

Leadership and management at Lewisham EP Team
The PEP, along with DPEP and Seniors, make explicit the containing functions of both leadership and management to running a good service and the wellbeing of the team. We invest in time to develop leadership and management skills and all members of the team have attended external leadership courses. Understanding supervision and line management is also supported through our peer supervision, SLT meetings, and external training. If you are looking for a promoted post into Senior EP, we will support your development into this role.

What We Are Looking For
Someone who is passionate about the profession of educational psychology. Someone with a commitment to public service. Someone who likes to learn; we are never the finished article. Someone who wants to move into a senior role because they have a desire to use their EP skills at operational levels of the EP team or in the LA to be part of improvements and innovative practice. We want someone who cares about our team and uses their skills and abilities to benefit the team and its work.
As Senior EP you will be responsible for the line management and supervision of a group of EPs. You will support the implementation and delivery of the Service Development Plan. You will lead on areas and be the key person for gathering and disseminating information in that area. We have three senior EP positions and one DPEP position in our establishment and examples of lead areas are: SEMH, TEP Experience, Allocations of EHCNA, Tribunal Liaison, Neurodivergent Needs, Early Years, EDI, CPD, and more. All Senior EPs will have an allocation of traded, EHCNA, project/commissioned tasks, and management tasks.

Location
The job is primarily based in Kaleidoscope, 32 Rushey Green, Catford, London, SE6 4JF, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office, settings, and from home on a regular basis.
Special conditions
- Doctorate or Master's Qualification in Educational Psychology
- Evidence of being HCPC Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist
- The job is subject to an enhanced DBS check

Salary
£63,836 - £67,706 per annum (Soulbury B Scale 8 - 11 + 3 SPA).
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
