Senior Engineer – Certification & Compliance to join the Product Safety & Compliance department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.
About The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer for Certification & Compliance to join our Product Safety and Compliance team during a rapidly expanding and exciting time of growth. Working at the forefront of technology, you’ll be actively supporting the drive for safe, conforming and sustainable products.
What You Will Do
- Develop legislative requirements as needed for systems to ensure that all systems are capable of achieving programme targets.
- Work cross-functionally in collaboration with all departments to ensure type-approval and certification is demonstrated and delivered in accordance with the new product delivery process.
- Undertake compliance studies to understand current and future legislation related to specific programmes.
- To prepare and submit system certification applications related to specific products.
- To lead the delivery of market homologation for Fortescue Zero products.
- To develop adequate procedures that effectively and efficiently deliver product compliance and market homologation.
- Support Conformity of Production audits through document preparation and presentation.
- Support technical and project reviews with key stakeholders.
- Aiding Business Units with business development opportunities where requested, including client meetings, feasibility work, tender and costing support.
About You
- An engineering qualification in a STEM subject or equivalent e.g. HND, Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree, Apprenticeship) and previous experience in product certification.
- Extensive demonstratable experience of delivery of product type approval programmes in on-highway, off-highway, rolling stock, or marine sectors
- A sound understanding and application of engineering principles and theory around design and manufacture.
- A passion for improving sustainability through the development of cutting-edge technical solutions.
- An understanding of energy storage systems, power conversion products, and/or electronic control units is desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude, willing to support and collaborate with other team members and engineering functions.
- A wholehearted commitment to safe working practices and a knowledge of HSE policies and Quality standards.
