Senior Engineer – Component Owner Electrical to join the Electrical department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.
About The Role
To work in the Electrical Systems Charging Team to work with Systems engineers to deliver specific components that form part of the charging system.
What You Will Do
- Take on Ownership and deliver responsibility of one or several components in the charging system
- Generating component requirements, based on features lists and cascaded project requirements and attributes.
- Work with the design team to ensure the parts are packaged and take on responsibility for the release of these components.
- Work with both external and internal suppliers to ensure the components satisfy their requirements.
- Assist with the development and fault-finding of the components within the systems.
- Assist with component DFMEA.
- Preparation and presentation of reports for internal and external audiences.
- Support technical and project reviews with the customer, representing WAE, as required.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and all other departments.
- Understand and work to WAE, Customer, Industry and Legislative standards.
- Provide guidance and support to lees experienced team members.
Essential
About you
- Considerable experience and proven track record in electrical integration within the Automotive, Autosport or Off highway Industries.
- Degree in relevant engineering discipline or extensive in job experience.
- Experience of Requirements Capture Tools, such as Siemens Polarion or IBM Rational Doors
- Experience of specifying I/O interfaces ensuring compatibility between multiple interacting components.
- Experience of component development within – HV charging, HV battery and HV powertrain systems
- Good understanding of On Vehicle networks.
- The ability to work flexibly to strict deadlines.
Preferred
- Has an understanding of functional Safety and ISO26262
