What You’ll Be Doing
- Involved with the design of composite structures
- Following internal procedures and developing evidence of compliance through written calculations and reports
- Undertaking peer review checking activities to approve methods and calculations
- Leading and supporting the identification and rapid closure of issues emerging from all product lifecycle stages
- Supporting technical development and research activities, methods and acceptance criterion, liaising with industrial partners and external customers as necessary
- Providing realistic programme status, identify problem areas and implement agreed recovery plans
- Supporting junior engineers within the team
- Supporting installation activities in the production environment
Essential
Your skills and experiences:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree (or related STEM degree)
- Understanding of material strength properties (elastic and plastic properties)
Desirable
- Knowledge of MatLab or MathCad
- Experienced in the use of SolidWorks design software (training can be provided)
- Comfortable supporting in production environments

The Propulsor Team
The Propulsor Team are responsible for supporting the design manufacture and in service support for propulsors across multiple platforms. The team uses various pieces of design software as well as being involved in manufacturing and installation activities. The team provides a full cradle to grave level of support to all things related to propulsors.
We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
