We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our Infrastructure Water team in Cambridge.
You will be responsible for providing engineering technical direction to the Electrical and software discipline engineers and ensure an effective team is maintained to integrate all EICA design and structural elements across all zones & phases of the scheme and ensure right first time functionality through design, construction, commissioning and takeover. You will also provide design support for the Cambridge Relocation Project as required and ensure all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards.
What you'll do:
- Lead and develop the EICA design team to create industry-leading engineering designs.
- Serve as a key member of the Engineering Leadership Team (ELT), reporting directly to the Engineering Director.
- Innovate ways to reduce carbon, increase biodiversity, address climate change, and adopt new digital technologies.
- Expand professional networks with internal and external partners.
- Aid in selecting specialist contractors and managing their design contracts to meet cost, time, quality, and safety standards.
- Help create the project design management plan and ensure team members understand their responsibilities.
- Oversee the production and coordination of the EICA design program and deliverables schedule throughout the project.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Engineering degree or equivalent knowledge through relevant experience.
- Preferably chartered or working towards chartered status.
- Competence in practical EICA and structural design, specifically in the water/wastewater industry.
- Experience mentoring and coaching junior engineers.
- Proven track record in designing multi-disciplinary water industry capital projects from solution to detailed design.
- Experienced in managing teams, developing others, and ensuring staff welfare.
