We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our Infrastructure Water team in Cambridge.

You will be responsible for providing engineering technical direction to the process discipline engineers and ensure an effective team is maintained to integrate all process elements across all zones & phases of the scheme and ensure right first time functionality through design, construction, commissioning and takeover. You will also provide design support for the Cambridge Relocation Project as required and ensure all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the process design team to develop top-tier engineering solutions.
  • Report to the Engineering Director as a key member of the Engineering Leadership team (ELT).
  • Innovate to reduce carbon, boost biodiversity, tackle climate change, and introduce new digital technologies.
  • Expand professional networks with various partners.
  • Assist in appointing and managing specialist contractors, ensuring cost, time, quality, and safety standards.
  • Contribute to creating the project design management plan and clarify team responsibilities.
  • Oversee production and coordination of the process design program and deliverables schedule.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent knowledge through experience.
  • Preferably chartered or working towards it.
  • Competence in practical process design in the water/wastewater industry.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching junior engineers.
  • Experience designing multi-disciplinary water industry projects from solution to detailed design.
  • Proven ability in managing teams, developing others, and ensuring staff welfare.
