Our Governance, Administration and Projects (GAP) department is a dynamic team with a varied portfolio of clients. They play a key part in providing our clients and members with a market-leading service to local authorities administering the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join this department as a GAP Administrator, within our Actuarial Public team in our Glasgow Office.
What will your role look like?
You’ll work with client facing consultants to deliver first class administration assistance to our LGPS clients.
You’ll Do This By
- Leading on the delivery of administration exercises for LGPS clients, for example by carrying out non-standard LGPS calculations or reviewing the work of others.
- Proactive workflow management including overseeing colleagues, liaising with consultants and clients on delivery, reporting on progress against targets and supporting with training and coaching of staff.
- Carrying out and checking standard LGPS calculations using LGPS administration systems, for example deferred benefit and benefit aggregation calculations.
- Producing or developing process notes for standard LGPS calculations, contributing to the continuous improvement of administration processes and identifying efficiencies
- Supporting consultants as required with the delivery of administration advice and services
- Identifying and highlighting any resource issues within the team, taking action to address such issues in the first instance or liaising with GAP Team Leader and Consultants.
- People Manager responsibilities for administrators within the GAP team, including (but not limited to) undertaking year-end prosper conversations, supporting learning, leading and supporting career development, managing performance and supporting welfare.
- Adhere to the firm’s Information Security standards, policies and procedures
To enjoy and succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience of LGPS, or equivalent private sector, administration best practice.
- Experience within Pensions Administration.
- Strong organisational skills with proven ability to effectively plan and prioritise work.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team, at times as a leader.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proven and effective communication skills.
- An enthusiasm for keeping up to date with developments in the pensions industry.
- A strong track record of successfully managing or supporting in the management of a range of projects.
