We are seeking a Senior GIS Analyst to join our Infrastructure Water team, supporting Anglian Water’s flagship Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Plant Relocation Project. This development involves the design and construction of a new greenfield Waste Water Treatment Works (WWTW), including a Water Recycling Centre (WRC), Sewerage Treatment Centre (STC), tunnel, shafts, landscape and building architecture, highways realignment, major earthworks, commissioning of the new facility, and decommissioning of the existing treatment works.
This innovative project will support the future economic development of the Greater Cambridge area, while providing several additional benefits to the community.
As a Senior GIS Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of the project’s digital strategy. This position is ideal for individuals with strong GIS and analytical skills. The successful candidate will drive the project forward by providing GIS solutions within the broader digital strategy framework.
What you'll do:
- Be an integral part of a diverse digital team within the project, collaborating closely with BIM experts and the wider team to meet Information Management requirements.
- Serve as the primary Senior GIS point of contact for the project, fostering relationships, promoting digital training and skills development, enhancing the customer experience, and delivering business benefits through holistic thinking and the implementation of GIS processes.
- Support Project Delivery through the development and maintenance of innovative, integrated GIS solutions.
- Ensure the delivery of GIS project requirements, identify opportunities, and adopt a “think with the end in mind” approach.
- Work closely with the Project BIM team to enable knowledge sharing, align processes, and ensure the delivery of key responsibilities through an integrated GIS-BIM focus.
- Partner with the project team to understand their deliverables and optimise the use of GIS tools, enhancing the project’s overall delivery.
- Manage and coordinate GIS implementation for the project, ensuring alignment with client requirements.
- Handle 2D and 3D GIS data, including reconciliation, digitisation, and cleansing, ensuring the information is fit for purpose and delivered to the right person at the right time in the right format.
- Integrate the project’s Common Data Environments (CDEs) and ensure alignment with GIS processes.
What you'll bring to the role:
- A degree or higher qualification in Geomatics, Engineering, Computer Science, Geography, Environmental Sciences, Data Science, or Software Development.
- An MSc in Geospatial Sciences, GIS, Digital Engineering, or a GIS-related discipline, and/or a relevant undergraduate qualification (preferable).
- Professional membership at the appropriate level or working towards this (e.g., CICES, RICS, RGS) is desirable.
- Working knowledge of professional GIS implementation, demonstrating practical expertise.
- Strong knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS Suite, open-source GIS, and awareness of current industry trends.
- A good understanding of CDEs and GIS-BIM integration processes.
- Familiarity with geospatial data reconciliation and ETL automation processes.
- Proficiency in systems and data integration (e.g., using APIs, BIM, CAD).
