An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Welfare Rights and Money Advice Team, as a Senior Homelessness Prevention Officer.
The Welfare Rights and Money Advice Team work with council tenants providing advice and assistance on benefit entitlement and challenges, budget planning and options on debt resolution. The team offers free, confidential advice and support to council tenants.
About The Role
In this role, you will use your skills and knowledge to assist tenants in making applications and providing tailored advice around their financial circumstances. This will involve case working with customers who can be in very difficult situations and can involve relaying complex information to a diverse customer base.
You will also be responsible for the line management of the Welfare Advice and Money Team. Working together in the design and delivery of training and information sharing across Housing and other agencies. You will be expected to build good working relationships with related service areas such as the Customer Payment and Debt Team, Housing Management Teams, Homelessness, as well as external agencies.
This role involves organising the day-to-day work of the Welfare Rights and Money Advice Team and deputising for the Allocations and Advice Manager in her absence.
