Job Title: Senior HS&E Advisor
Location: Southampton
As Senior HS&E Advisor, you will support the Framework HS&E Manager on all health, safety, and environmental aspects by leading a team of HS&E Advisors to deliver a first-class service to our client(s). You will support and implement the HS&E strategy and systems to ensure that the delivery of our operations meets exemplary safety, health, and environmental standards. This role supports improvement and consistency in performance, ensuring compliance with management systems, and implementing continual improvement initiatives.
Key Accountabilities:
- Foster and support an inclusive, open, transparent, and collaborative environment to develop our HS&E culture, maturity, and behaviours to deliver HS&E excellence.
- Support the implementation of our HS&E strategy ensuring this is also embedded within the HS&E Advisors actions to drive continual improvement through the business addressing short-, medium-, and long-term growth and learning.
- Lead the HS&E Advisors, ensuring that they are actively engaged within their framework and are contributing to the successful delivery of projects by providing a professional advice and direction.
- Actively support the HS&E Advisors to ensure the promotion of our behavioural programme; ‘Challenging Beliefs, Affecting Behaviours’, so that it is consistent with our business leadership ambitions.
Key Outputs:
- Ensures a programme of HS&E monitor, audit, and review by the HS&E Advisors is conducted at our workplaces on a regular basis. The programme shall include specific trends where necessary. Ensures that the quality of those inspections is maintained to a high standard.
- Conducts site safety and environmental audits and undertakes ISO 45001 audits to ensure compliance with our management systems. Ensures necessary outputs are recorded within our systems and advises management as appropriate to ensure timely actions management.
- Supports directly or ensures that sufficient HS&E support is made available to operational staff for the review of project documentation such as Construction Phase Plans, Emergency Response Plans, high-risk method statements and risk assessments, etc.
Following various acquisitions, we are now the largest Tier 1 Contractor operating in the UK Water / Environment sector with a long-term portfolio trading £400 million a year. As part of our Source to Sea Strategy we have bought together all aspects of Engineering Design under one Business Unit which is expanding to provide in-house design support to our various Regional Business Units across the UK.
