Job title: Senior ILS Specialist

Location: Broad Oak, Portsmouth. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £55,000 depending on skills and experience

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Act as the ILS Lead and point of contact for ILS activities across a range of programmes as directed and supported by the Training and ILS Manager
  • Manage and drive ILS programmes, performing a range of ILS activities of analysis, monitoring own progress, quality and performance seeking assistance when necessary
  • Ensure compliance and coherence with the ILS and project plans, schedule, supporting project documentation and company policies
  • Pro-actively seek direction and guidance in the identification and sourcing of suitable Subject Matter Experts and design documentation, required to support the ILS activities
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support any and all governance activities as required

Essential

Your skills and experiences:

  • Understand the full suite and range of ILS responsibilities and activities as detailed in the relevant Standards (e.g. Def Stan 00-600)
  • Understand the purpose, components and processes associated with each element, including identification if dependencies and relationships with other discipline areas
  • Able to construct a reasoned and rational argument for outputs produced and generate staged reports that support that case as required
  • Lead by example in applying their theoretical knowledge to solve problems using well proven analytical technique and successfully applying knowledge to deliver the required analysis and supporting reports using established technologies and methods

The Supportability Team

The successful candidate will be working within the BAE SYSTEMS Maritime Services Products domain primarily supporting the in-service and product development work in the Underwater Battlespace domain but also within the Radar Sector. You will work with both the design and in-service engineers as well as the customer community to provide efficient and cost-effective support solutions.
