We are now looking to recruit a Senior Infrastructure Technician to join our Edinburgh Trams Infrastructure Maintenance team. . Reporting to the Electrical and Mechanical Manager, the successful candidate will supervise, lead and work within the team of multidisciplinary Technicians in delivering the various elements of Edinburgh Tram Infrastructure Maintenance and Response service.
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead a multidisciplinary maintenance team, ideally with a background in the light rail sector. The ideal candidate will be proactive, constantly seeking innovative ways to enhance service delivery and adopt best practices from various fields. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to join a high-performing team and further develop your skills within our established and successful business.
Successful candidates will work on a rotating shift pattern, including morning, afternoon, night, and weekend shifts.

- Lead, direct and undertake maintenance and response activities ensuring that all works are undertaken in accordance with Edinburgh Trams maintenance standards
- Prioritise, allocate and manage resources to meet the daily production plan, in collaboration with the Track Manager and Electrical & Mechanical Manager.
- Ensure that all Siemens Mobility Infrastructure Technical, Health and Safety and environmental processes and procedures are followed
- Act as liaison with the customer for out of course events as required
- Provide guidance for team members on technical and operational issues
- Responsible for the shift handover
- Liaison with Operational control where necessary
- Ensure that directed staff are capable and competent to undertake the tasks allocated to them
- Promote and use the BMS and CMMS to control and manage work
- Be prepared and be competent to manage any foreseen emergency situations
You’d describe yourself as …
- Proven experience in an electrical/mechanical engineering environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of infrastructure systems and equipment.
- Hands-on experience with MV/HV electrical power systems switching and maintenance.
- Ability to follow procedures and complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including risk assessments, manual handling, and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
- Good people management skills
- Should have/or be willing to attend Supervisor's training courses
- Advanced knowledge of IT systems and software
- Good communication, planning and organisational skills
- Full, clean driver’s license.
