We're looking for a
Senior Planner to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based Nationwide
Location: Nationwide - Hybrid working is available, however this will need to be balanced with the needs of the business
Contract: Permanent, full time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Effective planning is a cornerstone of successful project management. The project plan is the roadmap to us delivering the project on time. It allows us to identify the whole scope of the project and the resources required to deliver it. It helps us understand and manage our key interfaces, identify, manage and mitigate risks, and to identify, exploit and maximise opportunities.
As a Senior Planner, you'll be working on our live projects, within our existing Canal and River Trust, The Mining Remediation Authority (formerly known as The Coal Authority) and Severn Trent Water Reservoir contracts.
What will you be responsible for?
The Senior Planner is a key member of the team to collaboratively develop and maintain accurate and robust project plans. Working closely with all the other members of the team, you will take ownership of the project plan by driving the project team to deliver to the plan and challenge any delay & deviation.
Your Day To Day Will Include
- Work closely with the operational teams to plan the sequence of work, logistics and resourcing of the projects
- Monitoring and providing the conscience of the projects, through the design, construction, commissioning, and handover phases
- Regular identification of change and early warning matters are an absolute. Requiring production and subsequent communication of assessments with the commercial team to manage any change
- Production and management of our programme submissions, in line with contract requirements or ad-hoc as required by our Delivery Managers
- Ensuring our teams are delivering the projects as efficiently as possible, whilst identifying delivery opportunities and risks.
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Planner is great for you if you hold:
- Civil engineering planning experience gained within the contractor environment.
- History of working on multiple projects, within a framework environment
- Whilst you'll be an operator of Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 planning software, knowledge and experience of how other forms can be used to communicate the programme is essential.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contract conditions and how this affects planning and the programme.
- Full driving licence.
