As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we are looking to appoint a Senior Principal Designer at either our Bristol or Cardiff offices. Joining a supportive network as part of a national team, you can expect to receive valuable training, guidance and genuine scope for career development.
You can expect to become involved in:
- Projects within the commercial, education, and defence sectors amongst others.
Your core duties will include:
- Day to day project delivery including, meeting attendance, chairing workshops, collating information and reviewing surveys, advising clients and supporting design team.
- Attending site where necessary and working with the contractor to manage any design change.
- Producing and creating reports as required to a high standard.
- Maintaining the Safety Critical Elements Register and all deliverables for the principal designer role.
- Being able to engage in drawings reviews, plan checks, obtaining information from CDE and supporting in the coordination of information.
- Monitoring actions agreed in the designing to ensure they are closed out.
- Engaging with technical experts to gain the knowledge or information required in assessing design elements.
- Developing internal relationships and supporting colleagues in their requirements.

In order to be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Minimum level L5, or working towards / obtained the following - Design / Construction Degree, NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ Diploma, NVQ L5
- Significant and relevant construction experience
- Experience in delivering construction projects
- Sector specific knowledge within 3 or more sectors - such as aviation, rail, education, healthcare, commercial, automotive, defence.
- Sound knowledge of construction design, building control requirements, construction techniques and materials, fire safety in construction, temporary works, asbestos, demolition, process engineering, modular construction, scaffolding, working at height, lifting, and CDM15 Schedule 3 item
