Job Overview
Reporting to the Head of Procurement Excellence and Sustainability, this role will be responsible for providing expert knowledge on procurement processes and systems. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, implementation, operation and optimisation of procurement systems. This position involves managing a team and will work closely with other disciplines such as finance, water, wastewater and customer to ensure effective collaboration and efficient delivery of services.
The role supports the Head of Procurement Excellence & Sustainability by managing a team to deliver:
- Effective processes and intuitive systems that ensure successful delivery of the Company’s procurement requirements.
- Accurate and timely reporting & analytics capability.
- Supporting a tactical, spot-buy buying desk to triage, direct and support adhoc company needs and answer queries.
- Implementation of new procurement technologies, planning and oversight of any subsequent technology implementation
- A focus on driving procurement excellence across the Procurement function and wider Southern Water business through optimisation of procurement processes, aligned to regulatory and company requirements, facilitated by intuitive procurement systems.
About You
- You will be an expert in procurement processes & technologies and experienced in defining the benefits of procurement technology.
- Have extensive experience in Procurement processes (including P2P) and transactional processes.
- Experience of procurement in a regulated environment and demonstrated knowledge of key legislation.
- Demonstrated experience of successful use of S2P and eProcurement suites.
- Supplier management expertise/experience.
- Experience in implementation of process improvements; process improvement accreditation desirable.
- Experience working in utilities desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (and/or qualified by demonstrable experience).
- Relevant professional procurement qualification desirable e.g. CIPS.
