The Vacancy
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager (IT) to join us on a 12-month fixed term basis to manage and deliver on specific IT workstreams to support the separation of the Authentication division from De La Rue. You will be leading the project and representing the division, working with counterparts from both the buyer and remaining businesses to ensure all separation activities are completed to the agreed milestones. You will plan and monitor the project, including the production of progress reports, board reports etc. against plan, managing issues and mitigating risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Take a hands-on and active approach to project management, take ownership and responsibility to deliver.
- Chair project meetings and always work within the agreed framework, being adaptable to specific customer requirements for governance and reporting.
- Hold the business and stakeholders to account for delivery of project objectives and be held accountable for timely communication of status or critical decisions needed from accountable executives.
- Plan, define, verify, and manage the scope, timeline, budget, and quality of projects.
- Provide oversight throughout project lifecycle from initiation, through to closure.
- Provide subject matter expertise to support effective decision making where applicable, using experience and knowledge from previous IT infrastructure and data related initiatives.
- Be accountable for engaging stakeholders through the process of delivering projects.
- Identify, quantify, prioritize, and manage delivery risks; develop and manage project risk mitigation plans; invoke mitigation plans and escalate appropriately for significant contingency plan execution as necessary.
- Plan and direct all executive stakeholder & overall project communications; ensure completion of appropriate documentation and distribute to appropriate parties.
- Manage work package leads and/or project teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Define activities & dependencies, estimate work effort, develop & manage schedules and report on actual vs. planned work.

Base location: Basingstoke Viables or Gateshead (hybrid working model)
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Hold a recognised project Management certification/qualification.
- Educated to degree or Apprenticeship Level 6, or equivalent experience.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of PM methodologies and Project Lifecycles
- Proven and extensive project management experience, ideally gained in strategic IT complex project delivery.
- Proficient in Office 365, including MS Project.
- Experienced in risk and issue management.
- Strong evidence of stakeholder management (internal and external)
- Working knowledge of IT infrastructure concepts pertaining to on-premise and cloud IT, desktop and networks, as well as data migration is desirable
- Experience of driving complex organisational change through technology projects working with a blend of internal and 3rd Party Suppliers is desirable.
- Delivery of data migration projects advantageous
