Job title: Senior Risk & Business Continuity Manager

About The Role
Reporting into the Director of Regulatory Affairs & Business Compliance and Risk leading a team of 3/4, you will be responsible for leading risk management and business continuity across Hyperoptic. You will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating and mitigating potential risks to ensure the continuity of business operations. Your expertise will be essential in developing and safeguarding Hyperoptic against various threats and uncertainties. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will be a key driver in providing an accurate view of the risk landscape to C level, establishing and agreeing organisation risk appetite, and driving through mitigation of risk to meet that appetite. You will be key to making the organisation more resilient to unexpected challenges.
Key Deliverables
- Risk Strategy and Governance: Define risk appetite and ensure alignment with board expectations, corporate goals, and regulatory standards. Establish governance structures for risk oversight, including risk policies, frameworks, and reporting processes.
- Risk Assessment and Management: Work with the business to conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and opportunities within the organisation. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to analyse risks, determine their impact on business objectives, and develop risk mitigation plans.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Develop and manage comprehensive risk reporting frameworks, providing accurate and timely risk information to the executive team and board. Establish key risk indicators (KRIs) and monitor performance against risk thresholds. Prepare and present regular risk reports, including risk assessments, incident reporting, and strategic risk analysis, to senior leadership and the board.
- Risk Mitigation & Controls: Design and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect the company from significant internal and external risks. Oversee the development of internal controls and risk management practices within each business function. Drive the integration of risk management into strategic planning, project management, and operational decision-making.
- Crisis & Incident Management: Develop and oversee crisis management and business continuity plans to ensure preparedness for potential risk events.Ensure that these plans are aligned with industry best practices and meet regulatory requirements. Collaborate with business units to conduct business impact analyses, identifying critical processes and systems that must be prioritized during disruptions.
- Training and Awareness: Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness about risk management and business continuity principles among employees. Foster a culture of risk awareness and preparedness throughout the organisation.
- Insurance: Responsible for ensuring that Hyperoptic has the necessary insurance in place
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, and develop a high-performing risk management team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

- Proven experience in risk management and business continuity
- Strong Knowledge of Risk management frameworks and business continuity planning

- Line management experience
