Job Description As a Senior Security Specialist within Sage’s Business Resilience Team, you will help oversee Sage’s global business continuity, operational resilience, and crisis response efforts. Yout will play a key role in developing, transforming, and maintaining these processes whilst also using their expertise to coordinate crisis and emergency operations across the organization.
This is a hybrid position, based out of our Newcastle office (3-days on-site).
Key Responsibilities As a key member of Sage’s Business Resilience team, you will assist the Business Resilience Manager in leading complex technical projects that enhance Sage’s risk-based Business Continuity (BC), Operational Resilience, and Emergency and Crisis Management efforts. To support Sage’s Crisis Response capabilities, you’ll support the development, maintenance, and testing of crisis management and resilience plans across the business, and use targeted crisis exercises to validate plans and prepare teams. During crisis, you will not only be responsible for supporting Sage’s incident and crisis management teams wherever and whenever crises emerge, but you’ll directly support colleague safety by helping manage Sage's mass communications system (Everbridge) - acting as a subject matter expert for its continued embedding within the business. In Business Continuity, you will help drive Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and BC plans (BCP) completion across the business and lead in the mapping and analysis of Sage’s complex internal and external dependencies, including critical third parties and technologies. You will also support the Business Resilience Manager by using Sage’s resilience platform to produce high-quality executive insights and reports, further helping Sage prevent risk and prepare for disruption.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐃𝐨:
As a Senior Security Specialist, you will build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, offering guidance and advice in the management and continued improvement of resilience efforts across business. You will support Sage’s technical teams by cohering, managing, and reporting on IT Disaster Recovery (DR) plans and technical recovery playbooks, and lead resilience efforts surrounding our most critical third parties. Finally, to remain compliant with current and emerging regulation you will lead in responding to third-party due diligence requests whilst also actively contributing to relevant industry bodies and conferences.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐘𝐨𝐮:
You’ll need a minimum of five years of experience in Business Continuity and Operational Resilience Management, with strong Disaster Recovery skills and knowledge. Other key skills required for the role include data analysis, insights reporting, and excellent communication skills, with experience briefing up to C-suite level. Experience in crisis response, exercise planning, IT disaster recovery, and BCM standards (ISO 22301) are also essential for the role. Finally, to really excel, experience in DORA regulations and previous resilience experience in the Financial Services sector or within other similar sized SaaS businesses is preferable. Qualifications including CBCI and ITIL are a nice to have.
To enable Sage to effectively respond to potential crises, applicants for this role must be prepared for out-of-hours incident response and international travel for crisis response exercises. A valid and up to date passport is therefore required.
