Description
At ZeroAvia, we're clean sky thinkers. For the world to achieve truly clean, guilt-free flight, we need a scalable solution; hydrogen-electric powertrains. As a leader in zero-emission aviation and a UK Jet Zero Council member, we're designing and commercialising hydrogen-powered solutions that will positively impact the future of aviation, global connectivity, and the world.

You will become a solution-focused champion in our high-velocity culture. We value results and efficiency and prioritise achieving our mission most effectively and innovatively possible. You'll be part of our unified team to create solutions and solve problems, If you're eager to take radical ownership and are unafraid to ask questions or challenge the status quo, then we want you to be part of our Clean Sky Thinking.

Responsibilities:

Apply skills as defined above to deliver clear, structured, and communicated systems engineering documentation across aircraft, system, and item levels.

Work closely with Airworthiness, Certification, Systems Safety, System Test, and downstream engineering to deliver lean system development in line with the guidance of ARP4754A/B and ARP4761/A.

Continuously upgrade and update process and planning documentation based on iterative maturity development.

Act as mentor across business functions on matters relating to lifecycle, development assurance, requirements management, and consistently demonstrate working-level best practice.

Requirements

Expertise in applying Systems lifecycle processes (V-cycle), particularly on the left-side of the vee. Previous experience working in development lifecycles with low maturity inputs preferred.

Experience with aircraft control systems (preferably engine controls), including control function and requirement capture and authoring controller specifications to enable item development.

Ideally, the candidate will have experience in decomposing certification requirements and guidance material, and/or developing new systems (new product introduction exposure).

Experience Working In Small, Highly Effective Teams Essential.

xperience working on certified or in-certification aircraft systems; propeller, electrical power, flight control/avionics, or on certified or in-certification powerplant systems; rotating components, engine control, cooling/lubrication considered.

Strong experience in the elicitation, capture, and management of requirement sets at all levels (aircraft, system, item), including their validation against completeness and correctness standards.

Strong experience in the development of system architecture, functions, and interfaces - including stakeholder management with downstream engineering teams, assumption and risk management.

Experience of aircraft or engine performance simulation and validation of the same desirable.

Experience of system safety analysis techniques (FHA, FTA, FMEA) and reliability assessment desirable.

Experience with aircraft control systems (preferably engine controls), including control function and requirement capture and authoring controller specifications to enable item development.

Significant working experience of managing systems engineering elements in software-centric environments, such as RMT (Polarion, DOORS), CAE (Matlab Simulink, Simcenter).

Significant working experience of authoring and reviewing SE documentation to grammatically correct, clear, and concise standards.

Strong ability to work in close collaboration with, and to provide structure and clarity to, multiple cross-functional stakeholders. Equally, a strong willingness to adapt based on stakeholder feedback and first principles scrutiny is essential in this role.

Experience working on aviation-intended electric propulsion systems, fuel cell systems, or EVTOLs considered.
