The Vacancy
Absolute Solar & Wind, part of the RSK Group, is currently looking to appoint a Senior Technical Design Manager to work on the growing pipeline of solar and storage projects. This role is a full time, permanent basis based out of their head office near Glasgow.
Absolute are a market leader in the development, engineering, construction, operation, and maintenance of large-scale solar photovoltaic and energy storage projects. We have built and connected over 120MW of solar projects. In the UK, Absolute has an excellent 16-year track record as EPC in the renewable sector, and we pride ourselves in the quality and diversity of the services we offer.

Requirements:
- Knowledge of PV industry performance modelling and simulating assumptions including bifacial panels and applicable system losses or comparable completed vocational training in the technical field.
- Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems.
- Experience in Solar PV Design.
- Experience in AutoCAD skills (desirable) - Ability to setup and manage drawings.
- Experience with Knowledge of simulation software including PVsyst and PVSol or equivalent design tools.
- Identifying equipment / cabling specifications and creating equipment schedules.
- To ensure technical integrity in system design and specified to meet company values and is compliant with all requisite regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of BS7671 18th Edition Amendment 2 and British Standards.
- Excellent knowledge of IET standards for Solar PV design and installation
- Knowledge of Battery system design and installation
- Experience in the design of electrical systems including cable management, cable routing, LV switchgear specification, cable sizing and specification of type including AC and DC (up to 1500V)
- Experience in the design of underground cable installations
- Salary is negotiable dependent on your relevant experience
