We are recruiting for a
Senior Transport Planner to support projects and client accounts with focus on project delivery and supporting clients to deliver their objectives and outcomes.
The Transport Planning team operates across the UK, with a presence in the South, the Midlands, and the North of England, as well as offices in Wales and Scotland. We require a proven Transport Planner to join this established and enthusiastic team in the Midlands to work on existing and upcoming projects. Our current client portfolio includes Midlands Connect, Transport for the West Midlands, Black Country Transport, Derbyshire County Council, Transport for Greater Manchester, Homes England, HS2, local authorities, national housebuilders, architects, planners and property developers.

Role accountabilities:

- Deliver high quality work in Transport Planning, working collaboratively with other sectors/disciplines to manage tasks and ensure the successful delivery of projects
- Support the development of the capability and capacity of junior team members
- Assist with the development of bids and support the development of our Transport Planning capability and capacity required to meet market needs
- Engagement with technical excellence groups and knowledge sharing.
- Support the development and growth of the Transport Planning delivery team and work with the wider Transport Planning team to help create the market for, bid and win new work and repeat business.
- Support the creation of brand recognition for Arcadis in Transport Planning
- Develop effective working relationships with Project Directors / Managers and with the clients and ensure effective communication of progress towards project delivery
- Develop and maintain a good understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis, of client’s needs and the industry sector
- Build competence and skills in line with future client needs
- Create an environment for and deploy automated solutions to repeatable processes which improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Bring consistent application of optimal use of digital tools and data
Qualifications & Experience:
The candidate should have a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree and experience working within a multinational engineering or professional services firm. Proven track record of of high-quality delivery in the Transport Planning space.
You should be experienced in the successful delivery of projects, ideally in both the private and public sectors, with a rounded skill set in transport planning work. Educated to degree level or above, preferably in transport planning, geography or similar. We are seeking a motivated individual, confident at communicating and presenting to internal and external clients. The successful individual should have a rounded skill set in transport planning work, together with experience in stakeholder engagement, strategy development and report writing.
- Experience in transport planning
- Experience of working as part of a large multi-disciplinary team.
- Able to produce quality written documents, whether proposals or reports.
- Experience managing projects.
- Excellent report writing, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to deliver the production of support transport technical documents.
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Previous experience of line managing or mentoring junior team members.
