We are looking to appoint an exceptional Senior Civil Engineer to work across an array of cleanwater infrastructure projects within our experienced team in Manchester.
Working as an integral part of the team, you will play a key part in delivering cleanwater infrastructure projects, including mains renewal, distribution network upgrades, network control and trunk main renewals.
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will produce technical designs, specifications and reports for a large variety of projects in terms of size, type, and complexity, both single discipline and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will mentor and manage your design sub-team (project programming and planning and resources).
Our Civil Engineering discipline boast a supportive and collaborative environment, and the successful engineer can expect hands-on guidance and prosperous career development. You will also have opportunities to achieve chartered status, with mentors and access to regular workshops and seminars tailored to signing off the core objectives as part of the chartership process.

This role will suit a Civil Water Engineer who has experience working in wastewater infrastructure across the UK. You will be able to demonstrate your skills, and knowledge of the industry, and be passionate about driving your career in engineering forward.
Our ideal Senior Water Civil Engineer must have:
- A degree or equivalent in civil engineering or a related subject, working towards a professional qualification
- Experience managing cleanwater infrastructure schemes
- Good knowledge of industry design software packages Excellent communication skills and a team player with a confident, positive and enthusiastic attitude
- A high level broad-based technical appreciation
- Very good report writing and presentation skills at project level
- Good verbal communication - able to discuss work, coach and supervise employees and communicate effectively with clients
It would be nice for you to have:
- CEng with post chartered relevant experience or IEng with post incorporated relevant experience working in wastewater
- Experience in a variety of different forms of contract
- Confident liaising with new and existing clients and an ability to build a good rapport with other parts of our inter-disciplinary practice, and with external design teams
- Robust problem solving skills, taking accountability for assigned work
- Previous experience writing and presenting reports along with client interaction and work winning
- The ability to lead a sub-team, focused on delivery of high quality design output.
