The Position

We are looking for experienced SIA stewards who ideally hold their NVQ Level 2 certificate in spectator safety to play a vital role in our matchday operations. Your top priority will be fulfilling safety and security duties, providing the best-in-class service to venue attendees and be able to remain calm and professional at all times when dealing with security incidents. You will be positioned in various locations around the stadium staffing the hospitality areas, exit gates, the stands etc.

You will need to be available for match-days, which could be during the evening or at weekends. This is a great opportunity for those who want to enjoy flexibility in their work patterns, and some earn extra money.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor crowd behaviour and communicate appropriate rules with spectators when required.
  • Ensure access control measures are adhered to in your designated area.
  • Enforce venue rules and eject customers if required.
  • Assist with the evacuation of the venue and direct guests or players/officials to the relevant holding areas.
  • Provide information and assistance to spectators and staff arriving at the venue.
  • Deliver the brand and feel of the event that is being staged – this will be briefed out in accordance with the type of fixture being staged.
  • Remaining in designated positions until relieved by your nominated replacement.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following experience/skills/qualities:

Essential

  • Candidates must be aged 18 or over.
  • Full right to work in the UK.
  • Physically fit and mobile.
  • Level 2 Award For Door Supervisor (SIA Badge)
  • Enthusiastic individual who can work well in a team and follow instruction
  • Ability to resolve an aggressive situation or conflict without putting yourself or those around you in unnecessary danger.
  • A good knowledge of venue evacuation procedures and safety requirements
  • Reliable and self- motivated.
  • Strong time keeping skills.
  • Well presented at all times.
  • Great communication skills- both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Desirable

  • Having or working towards NVQ2 in spectator safety is desired but not essential. Training may be available.
  • A good knowledge of the internal areas of the ground and stand they are assigned to.

Benefits

£16.50 per hour excluding holiday pay.
