About the Role: Site Construction Manager Opportunities
Base Location: Flexible Scotland, however, our preference is that you will be based from one of our key sites in Scotland such as Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness.
Attendance on-site at locations around the east & north east of Scotland five days per week to cover site management requirements for our project portfolio in these regions.
Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 depending on experience + car / cash allowance + performance-related bonus + range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

We have exciting opportunities for Site Construction Manager’s to manage the delivery of projects within our SSE Transmission Capital Delivery Team. Projects are of varying scale and complexity with typical project values ranging from £50m - £500m+. Interested to find out more about our projects? Within this role you will represent the SSEN Transmission business on-site, being the key point of contact for the project.
The Key Duties & Responsibilities Will Be
- Ensuring the project is executed in accordance with relevant requirements, particularly statutory and legal obligations, health & safety, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, quality & technical compliance, internal & external stakeholder management.
- Interacting proactively with the appointed contractor(s) and SSEN Operations team to ensure the works are delivered to the project programme, with appropriate resource levels and in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Ensuring site activities comply with planning consents and SHE legislation, and that detailed reports and KPIs are prepared and submitted to the Project Manager.
- Developing effective positive relationships with contractors, suppliers and the community, acting as a leader on site and champion for an effective and collaborative safety culture.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- A strong engineering and/or construction knowledge including safety and CDM regulations.
- HND qualified in engineering or construction management (or equivalent) and have experience in site management of similarly complex works in construction/ utilities/ electrical installation.
- Understanding of NEC forms of contracts, including previous experience fulfilling the role of NEC Supervisor.
- Effective leadership in challenging environments and ability to cope with conflicting demands, and have excellent planning, organising and communication skills.
The role is site based and requires a full current driving licence due to the requirement to travel to and be on site.
Lack experience but are still interested?
If you have a background in construction management within another industry but feel you might not have quite level of experience, please do apply. We may be able to offer site supervisor roles with the ability to transition to a Site Construction Manager role once the necessary experience has been gained.
