We're seeking a Site Technician with a background ideally within the energy sector to work on our clients grid projects.
This is a permanent role, based within Staffordshire however UK wide travel will be essential depending on projects. Overnight stays may be required, but all expenses, including car, travel and food, will be covered.
Summary of the Role:
As part of the Energy Team you will be responsible for the on-site wiring of protection systems and control systems for transmission, distribution and power generation station projects.

Main Activities:
- The assembly and wiring of electrical protection systems and control systems for transmission of varying size and complexity using drawings, parts lists, and specifications.
- Mechanical assembly of cubicles, framework, cable tray/ladder racking and desks.
- Assist with the hardware team with building and testing of the test rigs.
- Work with the site manager / supervisor to ensure all site deliverables and materials are ready.
- Quality of own work and rework identified during inspection and test, Assist with ITP check sheets with the site Supervisor / Manager
- Equipment builds and configuration inspection, LVD electrical safety checks, Earth bond continuity test, Point to point wiring checks, High voltage withstand test, Insulation resistance test, Power up, fusing and equipment functionality checks
Essential Requirements
- Have a Minimum 1-year experience of being a Site based wire person
- Experience of E, C & I installation
- Able to read and interpret circuit diagrams, general assembly prints, wiring schedules and parts lists.
- Must be prepared to travel and work away at customer sites
- Full UK Driving License.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working with Substation Control Systems, Protections systems or similar on National Grid Sites
- Mechanical assembly of cubicles, framework, cable tray/ladder racking and desks.
- Apprenticeship trained with ability to undertake minor Site installation activities
