About The Role

As a Skilled Vehicle & Plant Fitter, you will play a key role in keeping our diverse fleet of vehicles, including LCVs, plant machinery, HGVs and taxis, running smoothly and safely. Working across our Waterbeach and Cowley Road sites, you’ll carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including light commercial vehicles, tractors, mowers, and even HGVs.

You’ll be responsible for diagnosing faults, performing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and welding repairs, and ensuring that all work is accurately logged and recorded. Additionally, you will assist with MOT preparation and testing, ensuring our vehicles comply with all relevant standards. You will collaborate closely with your colleagues, meet deadlines, and assist in the development of apprentices in the team.

About You

We are looking for someone with proven experience in servicing and repairing LCVs, plant equipment, and ideally HGVs. You will be confident in diagnosing complex faults using diagnostic equipment and have strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Your collaborative approach and excellent communication skills will make you a great fit for our team, ensuring that we continue to deliver excellent customer service.

Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 07:00 to 15:00

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £36,124 - £40,476 per annum (City Pay Band 5)

Location: Waterbeach Garage and Cowley Road Garage
