We are looking for a Social Impact Manager to join our Sustainability team based at Trinity House or Westwood on a Permanent basis.
The Sustainability team is part of the wider Strategy and Innovation function, and relationships with teams across the UK, wider E.ON Group and externally are key to informing our activity and providing oversight. The Sustainability team provides leadership on social, environmental and governance reporting and strategic approach
Here's what you'll be doing
- Inform the social impact ambition for E.ON in the UK and unlock opportunities to enable the business to deliver the ambition.
- Provide thought-leadership to business leaders and their teams, enabling them to identify and articulate the social impact of their activities, investments and initiatives to their key stakeholders.
- Set up strategic steering to ensure prioritisation and coordination across the E.ON UK social impact community, for example Social Value Delivery Managers, Business Development, Supply Chain and Legal.
- Represent E.ON UK in social impact forums and communities and collaborate with third parties on insight and research to inform future innovation.
- Explore and project manage external partnerships and opportunities which amplify our social value impact and hold up a mirror to our plans and performance.
- Lead on a market review of social impact frameworks to support monitoring, optimisation and communication of performance of our social impact portfolio in the UK, ensuring efficient and consistent implementation.
- Develop E.ON UK’s social value policy and principles to support business growth.
- Manage the UK’s contribution to E.ON SE’s reporting on social topics and Human Rights, encompassing reporting and assurance, supporting wider ESG reporting and assurance.
- Manage social inputs to projects and answer questions arising from requests by Group Sustainability, Group ESG Reporting, Group Internal Controls, Group EIS Functions and other central functions.
- Support the PR and GtM strategy to position E.ON as an industry leader for social impact.
- Lead a high-quality social impact team and continually develop their skills.
- Support wider sustainability communications, engagement and learning activities.
What we need from you
- Experience of social impact or clear transferable skills, including from leading senior level cross-functional projects with a social value impact.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire action among colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
- A comprehensive understanding and passion for all matters relating to social impact and its importance in our commitment to delivering the energy transition where no one is less behind.
- Strong analytical (qualitative and quantitative), critical thinking and conceptualisation skills.
- Ability to mobilise and lead cross-functional teams including where you do not have direct authority, collaborating effectively.
- Ability to cope with multiple competing priorities, and deliver to tight timeframes.
- Drive for excellent performance, high self-motivation, ability to work without close supervision.

- Good cross-industry knowledge with ability to apply insight from other sectors.
