The Department
Our team of specialists assists clients with a range of complex requirements. The team typically acts for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net worth individuals, families, business owners and entrepreneurs, landowners and landlords, corporate trustees and fiduciary service providers and charities.
The team typically advises on a wide range of onshore succession planning and tax mitigation strategies, dealing with Will drafting, estate administration, trust and family investment company formation, advisory work, administration and taxation on a daily basis. We work alongside and consult with accountants, investment managers, private banks and financial advisers to ensure that the legal guidance we provide is tailored to our client’s needs and offered on a holistic basis. We also advise internationally mobile clients in relation to their UK estate, tax exposure and possible mitigation strategies.
The team also handles contentious trusts and probate matters for executors, trustees and beneficiaries.
Our dynamic and award-winning team is made up of over 40 people, making it one of the largest Private Wealth teams outside of London. The work that the team are instructed on is typically high value and with a degree of complexity, and both rewarding and engaging.
We encourage collaborative working and promote a working environment which fosters discussion and support for solicitors who are typically entrusted with a significant degree of autonomy.
