Advert Wording

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher to join the well-established specialist SEMH outreach team and further their career in SEND. We are looking for an exceptional individual to join us in developing and delivering the very best educational support to children and young people in Kirklees with SEMH needs, through the provision of an extensive outreach offer to all our mainstream schools.

The successful applicant will join an existing team who deliver extensive outreach support and training to mainstream schools within Kirklees.

We Are Seeking Exceptional Teachers Who

  • Have substantial experience of working with children and young people with SEMH needs.
  • Are passionate about promoting inclusion and supporting teaching and support staff across mainstream schools in Kirklees to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people with SEMH needs.
  • Have experience of assessment, planning and implementation of successful support for children and young people with SEMH needs.
  • Have a strong focus on securing learning outcomes that are meaningful to the child/young person and contribute to improving wider outcomes.
  • Can build strong working relationships with mainstream school colleagues, develop strong links with outside agencies and work in partnership with parents and carers.
  • Are reflective practitioners and have high expectations of themselves and others.
  • Are flexible and adaptable and strong team players.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Are resilient, self-motivated and can use their initiative.
  • Have the skills to manage difficult conversations and meetings.
  • Are committed to the safeguarding of all children and young people.
  • Have additional qualifications/strong CPD track record in supporting children and young people with SEMH needs and are committed to deepening and developing their understanding.
