We have an opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to join their team of staff in the Physiotherapy Department.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

What We Are Looking For

• Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with proven postgraduate general hospital experience
• Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
• Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Knowledge of CSP and HCPC Codes and guidelines and their implications for practice.
• Knowledge of the Care Standards Act and Care and Quality Commission Requirements.
  
  

Duties Of This Role Include

• Support the team to deliver care that helps improve the health of the individual and wider community.
• Support the team in demonstrating compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect, and dignity.
• Demonstrate commitment to improving care and the patient experience.
• To deliver speech and language treatment to a wide range of patients including general surgery and medicine, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic, bariatric, gynaecology, neurology, oncology and urology.
• To evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and seek support with clinical caseload as appropriate.
• To take a flexible approach in order to meet service needs.
• To take care of equipment and report hazards and defects to the Clinical Services Manager – Physiotherapy / Deputy Clinical Services Manager – Physiotherapy.
• To ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory and best practice frameworks.
