Due to project growth the position of Civil Engineer Manager has become available to join our Strategic Pipeline Alliance Framework (SPA) in Peterborough
Anglian Water has created a new delivery enterprise - the Strategic Pipeline Alliance. “SPA” is creating hundreds of kilometres of new, interconnecting pipelines to help combat the impact of climate change and keep fresh, clean water flowing across the Anglian Water region.
The new network is one of the largest infrastructure projects for a generation and is a complex and challenging major infrastructure project.

This role is hybrid (Office in Peterborough office and working from home)
We need someone experienced in delivering a range of communication activities on a major infrastructure project, including all necessary engagement, communication and consultation activities across a complex stakeholder landscape. Ultimately this workstream will support the necessary planning and consenting work and land access whilst having a positive impact on communities to enhance Anglian Water’s reputation.
It’s essential that this role can work in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary project environment and align all comms and engagement activities drawing on best practice and statutory consultation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for creating and implementing the landowner engagement strategy across circa 1500 landowners across the Anglian Water region across a variety of communication channels
- Work closely with Anglian Water’s Marketing & Media team to develop engaging and accurate content suitable for landowner engagement
- Work closely with delivery partners, SPA land team and external land agents to develop creative and meaningful engagement events and outreach sessions
- Produce regular clear and concise communications to the landowner community, sharing key programme updates
- Chair & implement quarterly landowner engagement forums across delivery projects where required
- Work closely with Anglian Water Catchment Team with engagement plans and events
- Continually reviewing and evolving customer/landowner journey to ensure that we are delivering a first-class customer experience.
- Responsible for ensuring feedback from customers is communicated and embedded on processes moving forward to improve service. Areas of where Make Today Great behaviours should/can be implemented should be identified.
- Ownership of landowner engagement sentiment score
Qualifications
- Has the initiative to collate and evaluates feedback from key stakeholders to implement change to improve our engagement strategy.
- Identifies potential reputational risks and issues and implements proactive engagement using a range of techniques and approaches appropriate to the target outcomes
- Competent across a range of systems and processes to ensure all regulatory and other outcomes are achieved
- Develops relationships with key senior external stakeholders to maintain relationships and protect the AW brand.
- Close working with the enabling & delivery discipline leads, Lands, PMO, delivery partners and supply chain to ensure delivery against programme
- Previous Stakeholder Engagement Strategy
- Working across a large complex infrastructure project
- Experience of Agricultural sector
- Awareness of land acquisition and water industry act
- Influential Stakeholder Engagement experience
- Proficient in preparing detailed reports, presentations, and correspondence with a high level of accuracy and clarity. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
