Description
Do you want to play a key support role close to the heart of strategy and decision-making? The Policy and Strategic Delivery lead on policy and strategy, supporting the strategic delivery of cross-cutting corporate programmes and advising on change and transformation within the council and the wider community.
We help create the right environment for partnership working, lead on voluntary sector strategy and support, and create the frameworks and tools to ensure that equality is embedded into service design and delivery. The Service leads in tackling some of the toughest issues facing the borough, including poverty reduction, tackling key inequalities and shaping an inclusive economy.
In this role, you will provide professional and proactive support to the team’s work on poverty reduction. In particular, you will support the Trusted Referal Partners programme which enables 25 services across the Council and Health Service to make crisis payments to residents facing financial hardship.
In addition, you will play a key role in producing the fortnightly Poverty Reduction newsletter, circulated to over 1,000 frontline practitioners and in organising the fortnightly online Tools for Frontline staff meetings (and occasional in-person events), bringing together frontline staff working to reduce poverty to share information and support each other.
We will provide training to enable you to use the systems to carry out these tasks.
You will need to be collaborative, curious, highly organised and take responsibility for managing your own time and priorities.
Strong administration skills and attention to detail are essential, but you will also need to be flexible, adaptable, and able to work on several different areas of work at any one time, with different people and working with several managers.
Enjoying variety, having an appetite for continuous improvement, and an interest in learning is therefore very important.
Please contact Rachel via email at rachel.salmon@hackney.gov.uk (Strategic Delivery Manager) for an informal conversation about this role.
