Purpose of role:
- Global Technical Authority and functional leadership of the Subsea and Pipelines discipline. Accountable for the Subsea and Pipelines discipline leadership, assurance, and governance across Harbour’s global operations.
Critical Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures.
Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required.
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:
Discipline Leadership & Business Support:
- Actively promotes sharing best practice, consistent approaches across the Company. Supports recruitment/ resourcing, personnel development, career development etc across the Function. Including identifying personnel to independently review other BU operations (cross learning)
- Review plans, estimates and budgets generated by the business unit asset teams in support of subsea activities
- Represents the Company with relevant Industry Bodies and External Stakeholders
Assurance:
- Together with other Corporate Technical leads is responsible for assisting with the functional assurance for all producing assets activities and projects
- Provides technical support and assurance to across the Company in subsea activities, including design, installation, integrity management strategy, inspection, maintenance, repair, operations, modifications and integrity assessments
- Carry out Reviews, Audits and Investigations as required
Governance:
- Owner of the Corporate Subsea, Pipeline and Diving Standards and Processes that support safe and efficient operations. Ensuring they are appropriate/ consistent with requirements and ensuring they are understood and followed and facilitating risk assessment/control/mitigation/stop work/dispensation where they can’t be
Critical Skills:
- Degree in relevant engineering or science subject/or equivalent experience
- Professional/Chartered Engineering qualification or equivalent suitable experience
- Has extensive subsea project delivery and operations experience across diverse geographical settings
- Experience of Subsea Project and Operations team leadership, management, and mentoring
- Extensive knowledge of the Design, Manufacture, Installation, Intervention, Repair and Decommissioning of pipelines, subsea production and control systems
- Experience of subsea pipeline and equipment installation and contract management processes. Possesses high level of commercial awareness
- Knowledge of Diving Activities and Marine Operations
- Fully conversant with industry codes, standards and relevant legislation
- Must hold or able to obtain a UK and International required offshore visitor qualifications/certification
- Aware of Subsea Industry project activity, industry capability in projects, market conditions and lead times for key project long lead items
- Familiarity of the key players within Subsea Industry
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- High level of leadership and influencing skills
- Able to present and communicate effectively to all levels of authority and technical expertise
- Able to apply sound engineering judgement and make decisions under pressure
