The role of the supply planner is to deliver high levels of stock availability to our customers, manage supplier performance and work cross functionally to continuously improve inventory management processes. Each Supply Planner will plan their inventory availability in line with customer orders.

What will you do on a normal day?
- Plan and assign activities based on customer demand ensuring balancing supply, inventory and supplier production capacity to the targeted Line Fill Rate.
- Manage the correct parameters for order placement, which includes stock balancing between branches & 81.
- Purchase non-re-orderable products for branch/customer back orders within pre-agreed product ranges from group approved suppliers.
- Vendor/ Supplier Management and Sales and Operational planning to enable and manage a selection of key supplier accounts and ensuring OTIF Performance and any other set objectives are at the required standard target.
- Working with cross functional teams to identify opportunities for stock vs cost optimisation.
- Contact with Vendors / Suppliers to resolve any non-conformances/ discrepancies within agreed SLAs.
- Establish and maintain good networking relationships with the suppliers to ensure implementation and delivery of the above.
- Support the business in mitigating excess inventory whilst keeping within the Company’s stocking policies and returning stock to suppliers where agreements are stipulated.
- Assists in assigned projects, within the project management guidelines
- Support other areas of the WDC/Group where appropriate to ultimately ensure a seamless service to the customer.
- Signals and identifies shortcomings in current procedures, processes and tools and implements new alternatives where needed.

What are we looking for?
Experience and Knowledge:
- Good understanding of inventory management principles and practices
- Experience in Vendor / supplier management. Including International Vendor Management (VMI) Ideally 2-3 years’ experience.
- The ability to effectively build and manage the vendor / supplier relationship to deliver results and contribute to vendor optimisation which supports the Cromwell Growth Strategy.
- Understanding of the market and the distribution industry.
- Commercial skills which can interpret and communicate financial impact, demonstrating an understanding of the total cost of acquisition.
