The Tax Director will join our London Leadership Team and be responsible for leading all aspects of the Tax department’s day to day client facing activity, ensuring this is aligned to, and promotes the business’ strategy and culture.
The Tax Director will lead a team of 14 dedicated tax professionals in our central London office, leading on the delivery of a variety of tax compliance matters for circa 300 clients comprised largely of internationally headquartered globally expanding businesses. You will work closely with direct reports and managers to look after the day to day running of the team, focusing on the development, maintenance and growth of the team and client base ensuring high levels of client service at all times. The role holder will also be responsible for the overall development of tax compliance and advisory services and growing the business by actively engaging in business development activities.
The individual will be recognised as a leading mixed tax advisor promoting the company and our business objectives whilst driving morale by providing support and guidance (technical and otherwise) to their team. They will have direct responsibility and accountability for developing processes and systems within the department, the delivery of risk and operational targets and key performance indicators for their department.
As a member of the Leadership Team, regular cross collaboration and involvement in discussing firm wide matters and company initiatives will be key, expressing own opinion and ideas and taking ownership of projects to implement change.
Excellent client service and process delivery will be key to being successful in this role.
Knowledge and Experience
Professional and Technical Experience
The successful applicant will have extensive experience in leading on the delivery of mixed tax services, having gained this experience in an accountancy & tax practice or professional services environment. Applicants should demonstrate excellent technical competency in UK tax compliance roles, with good exposure on tax advisory matters and preferably have developed a leading specialism in such areas as corporate taxes or transfer pricing.
The Tax Director is expected to have excellent international tax experience with a background of working with international clients with comprehensive knowledge on issues presented to businesses looking to expand internationally; permanent establishment, tax treaties, withholding issues, awareness of relevant US/UK tax matters and client transactions. They will have experience of coordinating advisory on cross border tax matters and have an understanding of building relationships with third-party suppliers. They will also be knowledgeable on share schemes and have good awareness of UK &EU VAT, being able to advise on these appropriately. The right candidate is commercially aware in regards to financial targets and efficiencies.
Managerial Experience
The role holder will have demonstrable experience in leading, coaching, and supporting colleagues and have prior senior managerial experience. They will be able to act as a thought leader in their team and know how to drive consistencies and efficiencies through their team with 10 years+ relevant experience.

The role holder will be able to establish themselves as technical expert on all matters relating to tax within as well as outside the company.
They will put their clients at the centre of everything they do, building relationships and exceeding expectations, they will be flexible and professional when working under time driven pressures and will have excellent prioritisation and time management skills. They have high attention to detail and can act with a great degree of accuracy. They will be self-motivated and focused on exceeding targets and goals and be supportive and respectful to the team and colleagues.

Academic and Professional Qualifications
