We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Generalist to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual with a foundational understanding of tax laws and a keen interest in developing their expertise in the financial services sector. The successful candidate will assist in ensuring our organisation complies with UK, US and European tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, while also supporting various tax-related functions within the company.

- Assist in ensuring compliance with US and UK tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, staying updated on any changes that may impact our organisation.
- Help prepare and submit accurate and timely tax returns, reports, and filings, including but not limited to:
- 1042-S and 1042
- ISA reporting (ISAComm100, ISA14a, ISA10, ISA14)
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as finance and legal departments, to support the implementation of the correct tax strategy for our product offerings.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to tax matters, including FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act), CRS (Common Reporting Standard), the QI agreement, and ISA Manager regulations.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments, including data, legal, customer services, and operations, to gather relevant tax information and facilitate accurate tax reporting.
- Liaise with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities as necessary.
- Continuously evaluate and improve tax-related processes, workflows, and internal controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Stay updated on tax developments and share knowledge with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide support to internal departments, including customer service, transfer, corporate actions and complaints regarding tax queries raised by our customers.

- Some experience (1-2 years) in operational tax, preferably within a fin-tech environment or financial services organisation.
- Basic knowledge of US (IRS) and UK (ISA) tax laws, regulations, reporting requirements, and cross-border tax considerations.
- Familiarity with FATCA, CRS, 1042, 1042-S, ISA reporting and other relevant operational tax returns in the financial industry is advantageous.
- Analytical mindset with good research, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
