Global Tax analyses and supports the activities, operations, reporting obligations and transactions of the firm’s business lines to ensure that the tax consequences and reputational risks are evaluated appropriately. Your Impact
An opportunity has arisen in Global Tax for a tax professional to advise the firm's front-office businesses primarily in the Global Banking and Markets Division. This position will involve significant interaction with people at all levels in these business units and will require strong transaction management skills. If you are a self-starter who is excited by the prospect of working with a challenging team this role will appeal to you.
Primary Responsibilities
- Advising businesses in the Global Banking and Markets Division on equities and fixed income trading, structured note programmes and derivatives trading and structuring
- Advising on operational tax matters, including FTT, SDRT and CRS
- Working with, and challenging the input from, external advisors throughout EMEA
- Liaising with other tax colleagues within the firm, including in the US and EMEA
Required Qualifications, Experience And Skills
- Professionally qualified – UK Lawyer or ACA/CTA
- Minimum 4 years’ tax experience with a financial services focus at a leading firm
- Strong technical UK corporate tax knowledge
- Experience of cross-border transactions and structuring, including knowledge of tax regimes in other European jurisdictions
- Understanding of CRS / FATCA desirable, but not required
- A team player with the energy and enthusiasm to excel in a challenging business environment
- Ability to adapt quickly and work with teams across the firm
