Job Purpose
RWS are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Tax Manager to increase capacity within the tax team. The tax department have several transformation projects which the successful candidate will play a significant role in. These projects include the Group’s multi-jurisdictional entity rationalisation project, and technology projects to enhance tax processes and improve reporting capabilities, to ensure compliance and align tax strategies with organizational goals.
You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement initiatives that increase efficiency, manage tax risks, and improve data accuracy. This role requires a blend of technical tax expertise, project management skills, and proficiency in transformation methodologies.
This is a new role reporting directly into the Group Head of Tax in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
This is a highly flexible role which will demand strong organisation and communication skills. The business is going through a significant period of change and the new role will evolve over time. Working closely with the Group Head of Tax, the primary responsibilities will include:
- Lead the implementation of the Oracle tax module, including functionality of Tax Provisioning, Country by Country Reporting and Pillar 2 data reporting
- Design and implement the end to end Pillar 2 reporting process and timetable, including selection of vendor for Pillar 2 tax compliance to include an improved process for CbC reporting
- Oversee the tax aspects of the Group’s multi-jurisdiction entity rationalisation project, which will involve co-ordination with advisors and internal stakeholders, tax risk management and compliance
- Assist with a review and update of the Groups Transfer Pricing model, including development of operational transfer pricing process
- Provide training, updates and process documentation materials to the finance functions regarding the tax transformation projects
- Group tax reporting under IFRS, including review of tax packs prepared by overseas finance teams.
- Oversee the UK compliance for the Group, working closely with external advisors and UK finance team, including preparation of tax notes for statutory accounts.
- Assist with Group meeting its Senior Accounting Officer obligations, including documentation of tax policy and procedures, tax strategy and tax risk matrix.
- Drive improvement processes for IR35 compliance, PSA reporting and controls for expense claims in conjunction with process owners
- Involvement in ad hoc tax project work
Skills & Experience
- Direct Tax experience – experience dealing with International Tax as well as Pillar 2 an advantage
- Experience with Oracle Tax beneficial but not critical
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to influence and manage multiple tasks
- IT literate with strong Excel skills.
- Accountancy background ACA/ACCA/CIMA - an advantage
- Experience of managing change.
